Safety Classes and Lifeguarding

HOW TO REGISTER FOR CLASSES


Please register at the Pool, or by phone (425) 837-3350 with a VISA or MASTERCARD, Monday - Friday 8:00am - 9:00pm, and Saturdays, Noon - 3:30pm.  Classes may be cancelled due to low enrollment and/or instructor availability.

THE CITY OF ISSAQUAH's JULIUS BOEHM POOL RESERVES THE RIGHT TO CHANGE OR ALTER THE FOLLOWING SCHEDULE, please call (425) 837-3350 for the most up to date information.

Fundamentals of Instructor Training Courses

Total Cost:     $45.00 + Participant must purchase FIT Participant Manual from ARC before class.

Pre-recs:        none

 

Water Safety Instructor Courses

 

American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Course.  Age 16+.   

This course will certify participants to teach infant, preschool, school age and adult learn to swim classes. Course prerequisites:  16 years of age by end of course, Fundamentals of Instructor Training certification, and the ability to demonstrate proficient swimming skills for front crawl, back crawl, breastroke, butterfly, sidestroke and elementary backstroke.

Total Cost:      $150 + participant must purchase WSI Candidates Kit from ARC

Pre-recs:        Current FIT certification – Age 16 by last day of course - Pass skills pre-test

 

 

 Lifeguarding Courses

 

American Red Cross (ARC) Lifeguarding.    Age:  15+. 

Earn the following certifications: Lifeguarding/First Aid and CPR/AED for Lifeguards.  Course prerequisites: 300 yard continuous swim using front crawl and breaststroke, retrieve brick from deep water.

December 27 - 30th      M - Th,        8:30a - 5pm

 

 

Total Cost:  $195.00

($140.00 course + $17.00 pocket mask + $38.00 training manual)

 

Pre-recs:       Age 15 + Pass skills pre-test

 

 

American Red Cross Lifeguarding Challenge Course.  Age: 15+. 

This course is an opportunity to become re-certified in ARC Lifeguarding.  There is no review time in class.  You have only one chance to pass.  There is no refund if you fail. Note: This class challenges lifeguarding, first aid and CPR/AED for Lifeguards written and physical skills. Call for times.  Bring your own pocket mask.   

 

 

Total Cost:      $60

Be sure to make an appointment for the CPR-FPR portion

Must bring your own pocket mask and most current CPR/AED PR Card

CPR/AED for Lifeguards Challenge Courses

This course is an opportunity to become re-certified in CPR/AED for Lifeguards by demonstrating skills and passing the written test. Recommended only for those professionals who regularly refresh their CPR/AED skills.  There is no review time in class. You have only one chance to pass. There is no refund if you fail. Must provide own pocket mask. Call for times.
