Rehearsals

Purpose
Use of the facility (ceremony location of your choice) and its grounds to conduct a rehearsal with involved family, friends and officiant. This is a great time to share your wedding ideas and familiarize your guests with the site. Rehearsals are not required. About half of our brides have them.

Fee and Timing
The fee is $200 for one hour of facility access. No additional deposit is required. Our staff are scheduled no sooner than 15 minutes prior to your start time to open the driveway gate and facility. Please inform those invited not to arrive too early because they may not be able to get into the parking lot or the facility.

Please keep in mind that we have multiple rehearsals back to back, so your rehearsal needs to end on time. We ask that you are respectful of each group's reserved time. Our staff is scheduled only until 15 minutes past your contracted end time, no later, and they are asked to close the facility on time.

Booking Your Rehearsal
Rehearsal bookings are scheduled first-come, first-serve. Your rehearsal time-slot can be determined and scheduled at the same time you confirm your wedding booking.

Availability
All rehearsals regardless of your wedding day are scheduled on Thursdays between 5-8 p.m. Rehearsals are only scheduled on the hour (example: 5 p.m., not 5:30 p.m.), based on availability. We will not offer any rehearsals on Friday evenings or over the weekend.

Available Time Slots
  • 5-6 p.m. Thursday
  • 6-7 p.m. Thursday
  • 7-8 p.m. Thursday
If we have a week with more than three rehearsal requests, we will add these time slots: 
  • 4-5 p.m. Thursday
  • 8-9 p.m. Thursday

Other Options
 
The only time an alternate day would be scheduled for a rehearsal is if Thursday night is reserved for another event. We can notify you at time of booking or scheduling your rehearsal if this is the case. If it is, we will offer a rehearsal time of your choice, either 5-8 p.m. Wednesday or 9 a.m.-noon Friday. We do not offer the option of a Friday evening or weekend rehearsal.
If these options won't work for you, another alternative is to add another hour to the beginning of your wedding day booking to hold a casual practice run, when you know everyone needed will be in attendance. Many groups prefer this less-stressful option. Please check with our office to see if additional hours for booking are available on your wedding day.

Do I Need a Rehearsal? 

If you are unsure about needing a rehearsal, you can add one at a later time. It is not required that you contract a rehearsal when you contract your wedding. However, because they are booked on a first-come, first-serve basis, committing to a rehearsal in advance will offer you a better chance of choosing the hour that works best for your group. Again, all rehearsals are booked on a first-come, first-serve basis. We do ask that you have your rehearsal scheduled with us at least three months prior to your wedding.

Not everyone has a wedding rehearsal. Some groups just do dinner and some rehearse at another location. If you are not 100 percent sure that you’ll need a rehearsal, we highly recommend you do not contract one with us. Although it is an optional add-on, the cost is $200 and because you will be holding an hour time slot from others your $200 will not be reimbursed should you change your mind and decide to no longer hold a rehearsal at the manor.

Equipment Use and Staffing
One staff member will be scheduled to assist you with your rehearsal. They will manage the opening of the site and set-up the stage and a few rows of chairs, if asked. The AV equipment and tables are not available for use during rehearsals. They require more time than a rehearsal allows to set-up.

Rehearsal Locations
If you are planning for an outdoor ceremony, we recommend you rehearse in your sheltered Plan B location as well just in case of poor weather the day of your event. If the weather is poor on the day of your rehearsal, we suggest you rehearse indoors knowing that the ceremony will hopefully be conducted outdoors.

Decorating, Food and Beverage & Deliveries
Unless previously approved, a rehearsal is not the appropriate time for pre-decorating, equipment set-up or dining. The facility will most likely be empty, it will not be set with the tables and chairs for your event. Please save deliveries for the day of your event as well. Our staff has been instructed to turn deliveries away (unless previously arranged and approved). Alcohol consumption is not allowed at rehearsals.

Insurance
It is always recommended to include both the date of your rehearsal and wedding in your insurance policy. If you've already purchased the insurance, please contact the insurance company (WCIA) and ask that they extend coverage to both rehearsal and wedding day. There is no increased cost to cover the rehearsal in addition to your wedding day, so it is a good idea. If you’d prefer to wait until your rehearsal is scheduled to purchase the insurance that can be done as well. We just ask that insurance be purchased at least one month prior to your event.

Cancellation
Again, although it is an optional add-on, the cost is $200 and because you will be holding an hour time slot from others your $200 will not be reimbursed should you change your mind and decide to no longer hold a rehearsal at the manor.

Dinner
Many groups do dinner before and many do it after. Local restaurants and private homes work well. Please see our experienced vendor list for a list of great, local restaurants!
