Park Bond
Julius Boehm Pool

In November 2013, more than two-thirds of Issaquah voters approved a park bond measure to protect open space and wildlife habitat, improve neighborhood parks and playgrounds, and make repairs to Julius Boehm Pool.

After extensive outreach to determine our community's priorities, projects funded by the bond include:

 Project Estimated Cost
Make repairs to Julius Boehm Pool  $5,000,000
Acquire open space and creekside land to enhance Issaquah's "green necklace" of open space, parks and trails  $2,000,000
Install all-weather/artificial turf and lighting at Central Park
Further enhance Confluence Park
Improve drainage at Tibbetts Valley Park and the Community Center Green
Replace playground equipment at Gibson Park
Replace playground equipment at Meerwood Park
Pay for the issuance and selling of bonds, and associated fees  $150,000
Total  $10,000,000

The project list came together after a public process that started with a community survey, and then expanded to include a Park Bond Citizen Advisory Committee, as well as input from more than 300 citizens through our open house, online survey and social media.

Projects funded with bond dollars will go through our established bid and design processes, with opportunities for public comment and input.

Voters approved a $10 million bond measure. The estimated additional property taxes on a home assessed at $420,000 would not exceed $46.20 per year over the 20-year life of the bonds.
