ABOUT THE MAYOR 

Mayor Ava Frisinger took office as elected Mayor of Issaquah in January of 1998 for her first term, and was re-elected a second term beginning in 2002 through 2005, and a third term from 2006 through 2009.  She is on the Executive Board of F.I.S.H. (Friends of the Issaquah Salmon Hatchery) and, time permitting, volunteers as a docent at the Hatchery when the salmon return in the Fall.  She serves on the King County Board of Health, chairs the King County and Cities Consortium for Affordable Housing, Joint Recommendations Committee, and is a member of the Executive Board of A Regional Coalition for Housing (ARCH), an Eastside affordable housing group; Water Resource Inventory Area 8 (WRIA 8) Forum and WRIA 8 Steering Committee, City and County officials who work on endangered and threatened salmon recovery issues for the Lake Washington and Lake Sammamish Basin; Suburban Cities Association Management and Intra-City Policy Boards.

 

Mayor Frisinger invites citizens to stop by the no-host Mayor’s Breakfast on the 2nd Saturday of each month from 9:00 to 10:00 am to chat and discuss topics of interest. The Breakfast is held at Fins Bistro at 301 Front Street N at the Village Theatre.

 

The Mayor also welcomes citizens to meet with her in her office at City Hall.  Call 425-837-3020 for an appointment.
