Public Works Operations Department keeps the City running. While Issaquah sleeps, Public Works Operations is out plowing snow and sanding the streets. Public Works Operations is responsible for the streetlights and signals. We maintain the road system with its multitude of signs to install and repair, shoulders to mow, and streets to keep clean and safe.
Public Works Operations is also responsible for the City's water utility, encompassing production, distribution maintenance, planning and purity. The Department maintains the storm water system, with its culverts, creeks, and ditches, as well as the sewer utility, which contains a collection system that interfaces with King County waste processing.
The Department also includes the equipment & fleet maintenance division with the responsibility of maintenance and replacement of the City's equipment and vehicles.
