Neighborhood Traffic Calming Program

Neighborhood traffic problems continue to grow within the City of Issaquah. The Public Works Engineering Department and the Police Department have been dealing with a steadily increasing number of requests regarding traffic safety concerns in residential areas. A program that has gained more and more popularity in the Traffic Engineering field is the establishment of policies and criteria of a Neighborhood Traffic Calming Program.

Establishing goals, objectives, policies and criteria of a Neighborhood Traffic Calming Program will provide a variety of potential alternatives with which to creatively solve problems in partnership with the neighborhoods.  Please check the link below for documents detailing Public Works Engineering overriding policies for implementing neighborhood traffic calming measures, and a brochure that describes the City's Neighborhood Traffic Calming Program.

Citizen Action Requests

The fist step in getting started with the Traffic Calming Program in regards to traffic concerns on your street or neighborhood is to complete a Citizen Action Request (CAR) that you will find below to explain your concerns. If you would like to email the form to us, please complete the CAR that is in Word format. You will then be able to email the form to Public Works Enginering.  Otherwise you can use either form then print it out and mail it to:
