The Public Works Department serves as staff support for the following Boards, Commissions & Committees:

  • Utilities, Technology & Environment Committee:(UTEC) This committee responsibilities include Cascade Water Alliance and Sammamish Plateau Water and Sewer District issues; Stormwater, Cable and Wireless; Technology; Puget Sound Energy issues; Alternative Energy proposals and projects; Waster Managment and Recycling, Other Environmental issues. 
  • Transportation Committee (CTC): This Council committee deals with all matters  relating to transportation (e.g. multi-modal, pedestrian access, sidewalks and transit), street, and signals. Interfaces with UTEC on overlapping projects.
  • Urban Village Development Commission.  The Commission conducts planning level reviews of specified land use actions within the Issaquah Highlands and TALUS projects and serves as a scientific and technical resource authority and advisory body to the Mayor and City Council regarding actions necessary to conform with the policies, goals and objectives contained in the City Comprehensive Plan and the Issaquah Highlands and TALUS Development Agreements.
