Description
The 421 acre Talus Native Growth Protection Area (NGPA) extends from Cougar Mountain east to Squak Mountain. The NGPA forms a natural open space area and wildlife corridor between the two mountains. There are significant trail connections from the NGPA into the trail systems of Cougar Mountain Regional Wildland Park and Squak Mountain State Park.
Amenities
- Bear Ridge Trail provides access from SR 900 up to King County Cougar Mountain Regional Wildland Park (small parking area on SR 900 - see trail description)
- Talus Bridge Trail provides neighborhood access from the Talus Development to the Bear Ridge Trail
- Bullitt Fireplace Trail (formerly known as the Bullitt Access Trail) provides trail access into Squak Mountain State Park and the King County open space lands (small neighborhood parking area located on Mountainside Drive - see trail description)
