Artists to Hold Free Demonstrations in Issaquah

More than a dozen artists will demonstrate their techniques, as well as share their talent and enthusiasm for the arts, during the upcoming “Artists in Action” event from 5-8 p.m. Nov. 21, 2008 in historic Downtown Issaquah.

 

This free event is sponsored by artEAST, the City of Issaquah, the Issaquah Arts Commission, Downtown Issaquah Association, the Issaquah History Museums, 4Culture and the participating artists.

 

The event offers a great way for the community to interact with local artists and learn about their work. To find out more about everything from jewelry construction to printmaking, come watch the “Artists in Action” at these five downtown Issaquah locations:

 

Painted Ladies Studio - 485 Front St. N. #F2

·         Sandra Glazer Lake, printmaking

·         Barbara Van Dyke Shuman, pastels

·         Gail Davis, acrylics and mix media

 

UP Front Art Gallery - 48 Front St. N.

·         Judie Hansen, acrylics

·         Miska, acrylics

·         Donna Gelinas, jewelry and silver chain construction

 

Art by Fire Lobby - 195 Front St. N.

·         Art by Fire, glass blowing

·         Karen Abel, glass fusing

·         Julie Griffin, glass bead lamp work

·         Jamie McKay, glass casting and pate de verre

 

The Historic Hailstone Feed Store - 232 Front St. N.

·         Deby Harvey, copper hollowware

·         June Sekiguchi, scroll cut wood

 

The Historic Railroad Depot - 50 Rainier Blvd. N.

·         Ellen Borison, figure drawing

·         Anita Feng, hand built ceramics

·         Tiffany Lin, performance artist

 

The City of Issaquah Arts Commission enhances the quality of life for Issaquah citizens and visitors by supporting and encouraging visual and performing arts in and for the community.

 

artEAST, a non-profit organization made up of artists and art supporters, is also dedicated to making the arts an integral part of life in our community.
