Volunteer: Arbor Day Trail Work and Tree Planting

You're invited as we partner with the Mountains to Sound Greenway Trust, Washington State Parks and Friends of Lake Sammamish State Park to celebrate Arbor Day and 25 years as a Tree City USA by building a trail and planting trees!

Volunteers will meet at Sammamish Cove, a former dairy farm adjacent to Lake Sammamish State Park. It borders Tibbetts Creek, a salmon-bearing stream, to the northeast. Boasting sweeping views of the Issaquah Alps, the area was overwhelmed by invasive weeds. But volunteers have worked hard to remove these invasive weeds along the creek, and planted hundreds of trees to re-establish healthy forests where habitat matters most. Join us for this celebration as we plant native trees and shrubs, remove invasive blackberry and build a new connector trail to improve park access.

The volunteer opportunity starts at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 21, 2018. To learn more and register, go to
